CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS

TRAFFIC LIGHT BEHAVIOR
Check your child's folder daily to see the color of his behavior square. Please initial the square.
Green - I am following classroom expectations well!
Yellow - I have had verbal warnings for not following classroom expectations.
Red - My parents will receive a "red email" or phone call explaining my day.
FRIDAY FOLDERS
The Friday Folder will come home each week and contain info for parents. Every other week, graded papers will be in the folder and are to be signed by a parent. Graded work needs to be returned the next day.
GRADES
DAILY GRADES - Grades consist of performance tasks and observations
REPORT CARDS - every nine weeks
S (satisfactory) = 80 -100 N (needs improvement) = 79-70 U (unsatisfactory) = below 70
GKIDS
(Georgia Kindergarten Inventory of Developmental Skills)
GKIDS' reports will be given to parents fall, winter and spring. The purpose is to show detailed info regarding a student's performance with specific kindergarten academic and social skills.
BIRTHDAYS
If parents wish to provide birthday treats, CVES cafeteria birthday treats or prepackaged grocery store mini cupcakes may be passed out to the class during our assigned lunch period. Information about ordering CVES cafeteria birthday treats may be found on the CVES website. Per the CVES handbook, no party invitations may be sent to the classroom to be passed out to students.
DAILY SNACK
Please send a snack each day for your child. Healthy snacks such as cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies should be sent. DO NOT send cookies, candy, cake, pies or sugary foods.
ABSENCES and TARDIES
Absences will be excused when parents send in a written note for sickness or doctor's appointment. Please send the excuse note in your child's folder. Students late to school must have parents sign them in at the front office. Students may not be checked out after 2 pm.
DAILY HOME COMMUNICATION FOLDER and HOMEWORK
You should check your child's folder each night for: important papers, practice work done with the teacher, daily color on behavior light, homework and classroom calendars. Homework consist of choosing homework activities, reading with your child for at least 15 minutes and reviewing sight words. The monthly classroom calendar states what the class will be learning each week and gives information about classroom activities.
